My handcrafted Cigar styled Letter Opener uses a beautiful piece of Chechen, or Caribbean Rosewood, hardwood as the handle. This wood handled letter opener is trimmed in a bright Gold finish. The letter opener is part of my cigar line of desk and writing accessories. This letter opener has a 4 ½ inch gold plated blade and has a nice balance and feel to it. The letter opener complements my matching pen lines, and goes great together with a matching pen.
The overall size is 6 3/4" in length x 1/2" in width and comes with a nice gift box.
Chechen, or Caribbean Rosewood, is a beautiful golden brown colored rosewood found in the Caribbean (Jamaica, Belize, Southern Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Guatemala). Very nice grain is present in the golden brown colored hardwood. This letter opener will only darken with age with a slight reddish tinge with age and use and take on that old, traditional style.
The handle has been finished in order for a nice grip on the handle and to capture some of the features and grain in the hardwood.
My accessories are great for personal use or as an exquisite gift for that special someone, wedding, anniversary, client, guest, etc. These are one of a kind desk accessories made from hardwoods I personally select. All my handcrafted items are hand turned by me on my lathe and undergo a minimum 18 step finishing and polishing process to bring out the fantastic colors embedded throughout the hardwood.
I do not use inferior woods, acrylic formulations or pen mechanisms in any of my accessories, pens or pencils!
